How saynotopremium.co.uk Started
A few months ago when I was moving flat for the second time this year I again had to call all the utilities providers to change my details, cancel accounts and so on. They all use 0845 numbers so I was using the saynoto0870.com web site to translate a lot of the numbers to their geographical equivalents (i.e. normal phone numbers) - geographical numbers are included in my mobile free minutes whilst 0845/0870/0871 even 0800 are not (I’m charged 20p per min for each one).
The saynoto0870.com web site is a great idea but suffers from a few problems, the main one I found is that it’s just at the moment that I don’t have an internet connection, or even a fixed phone line that I use it the most. The obvious solution is to have some mobile software connect to the service so that you can do the whole thing on the move with your mobile.
Being a mobile software geek, I sent off a message to the site owner suggesting that my company ixpocket.com develop some kind of mobile component for the site. I never got a reply and actually I’m not totally sure that there’s anyone there. It certainly hasn’t had a redesign in a while, could even be a ghost site that just functions until the direct debit that’s funding the domain and hosting costs runs out?
Anyway I decided to use the mobile software development expertise we have at ixPocket to do it myself. I hope you find the results useful.
